Disability Action Week 2017

September 11th, 2017

This week is Disability Action Week 2017 (held from Sunday 10 to Saturday 16 September).

This year’s theme – Everybody has a role to play – encourages everyday Queenslanders to make small changes to create a more welcoming state for people with disability.

Disability Action Week is a key part of the Everybody has a role to play  awareness campaign, which aims to help create opportunities for all through sharing stories of Queenslanders with disability and providing tips for individuals and organisations on how they can be more inclusive.

NIISQ are currently accepting submissions to the National Injury Insurance Scheme Photographic Exhibition.

Are you or do you know a photographer willing to tell the story of the seriously injured person? Or perhaps you are a seriously injured person wanting to tell your own story?

The cut off for entry is 31 October. First prize: $3,000, Second prize: $2,000, People’s Choice Award: $1,000.
