QSCIS Knowledge Hub expansion to support clinicians managing spinal cord injury
August 15, 2025

The National Injury Insurance Agency Queensland (NIISQ Agency) is proud to fund an expansion of the Queensland Spinal Cord Injury Service (QSCIS) Knowledge Hub website — an initiative of Metro South Hospital and Health Service. The Knowledge Hub is a resource designed to support health professionals in acute care, rehabilitation, and community settings in the management of Spinal Cord Injury (SCI).
The planned expansion builds on the initial two modules developed in 2024. This will include the addition of two new educational modules on functional and physical skills, and assistive technology. These modules will be developed using a co-design approach, incorporating feedback from service providers who will use the resources.
The Knowledge Hub expansion will provide clinicians with up-to-date, evidence-based, and user-friendly resources on SCI. This will support the capacity building of clinicians across Queensland in their understanding and management of SCI, ultimately improving the care and support clinicians provide to individuals with SCI.
The QSCIS project team will soon be conducting a survey to identify gaps in clinician knowledge regarding functional and physical skills, as well as the use of assistive technology in the care of individuals with SCI. If you are a clinician who is interested in participating in the survey, please email Sarah Yeganeh.
