The November 2025 NIISQ quarterly newsletter and July – September 2025 scheme insights report is now available, featuring important stories and updates for the NIISQ community. This issue share’s NIISQ participant Clint’s journey, and his rediscovery of his love for music and fishing, along with archery, highlighting how this has helped him build strength and connect with others.
We also celebrate the appointment of Professor Sean Tweedy as the inaugural NIISQ Chair in Physical Activity and Disability. Professor Tweedy will lead efforts to enhance health and wellbeing for Queenslanders with disabilities, using the excitement of the upcoming 2032 Paralympic Games to promote safe and effective participation in sport and physical activity.
A new update on the CogCap program is also included. NIISQ is partnering with the University of Queensland to expand this program, which provides online and in-person training for clinicians working with people with acquired brain injuries.
The NIISQ Agency is also proud to support the SHARE (Supporting Health, Adjustment, Recovery and Empowerment) project by Children’s Health Queensland. This initiative focuses on improving mental health and wellbeing support for children and youth with acquired brain or spinal cord injuries.
