First NIISQ quarterly newsletter 2026 and scheme insights report out now
March 5, 2026
The first NIISQ quarterly newsletter of 2026 and the October–December 2025 Scheme Insights report are now available, featuring key updates and stories for the NIISQ community.
This quarter, we highlight the results of the NIISQ participant survey conducted late last year, which delivered strong positive feedback. The survey confirmed that our improvement efforts over the past 12 months are creating better experiences for participants. The updated data will guide further enhancements in areas such as training, internal capability building, and process improvements.
We also celebrated International Day of People with Disability 2025 with an inspiring event featuring keynote speaker Dane Cross, Chief Operating Officer of Sporting Wheelies, who shared valuable insights on fostering disability-inclusive communities. Additionally, the NIISQ Workforce Planning Implementation Group (WPIG) reflected on the significant achievements of the NIISQ Disability Service Plan (DSP) over the past year.
As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we are reviewing the NIISQ Treatment, Care, and Support (TCS) Guidelines. This review focuses on identifying opportunities to simplify complex sentences, enhance clarity, and adjust language to improve accessibility. We’re also seeking feedback on the draft Provider Guideline, which outlines the role of service providers in delivering treatment, care, and support to NIISQ participants. These initiatives aim to ensure our resources remain practical and accessible for participants, their families, and stakeholders.
Finally, we announce the finalisation of a new funding agreement with the University of Queensland (UQ) exploring the use of virtual reality (VR) for fall prevention and community mobility.
Whether you’re a NIISQ participant, healthcare professional, or industry partner, there’s something for everyone to discover in our February newsletter
