Introducing ‘MyPlan’

We’re excited to share that we have co-designed a new framework for gathering information and have developed what we now call a ‘MyPlan’ instead of a support plan.

The framework is called ‘MyPlanning’. The ‘MyPlanning’ framework helps us understand individual needs and goals, so we can help participants access the right treatment, care, and support at the right time.

Starting from October 2023, support plans will be known as ‘MyPlan’. It will have a fresh look and feel, thanks to input from our participant reference groups and workshops.

If you have any questions about MyPlan, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your NIISQ Support Planner. We’re here to help!

Previous updates

  • What has been happening?

Earlier this year we celebrated our 6th birthday (you can read more about our birthday by clicking here), and it provided time for us to reflect on the past and look towards the future of treatment, care and support for participants.

It was really important to us that we took the time to review the ways in which we work. We want to make sure we are providing the best support and value to our participants and providers in the ways that work best for them.

We are also keen to ensure interactions with us here at the NIISQ Agency are as valuable, easy and convenient as possible.

One thing we are aware of is that while we have grown and changed in the past 6 years… so have our participants. Some have been with NIISQ since we began, and that means their needs are now different as well.

    What changes are we making?

    New participant pathways

As you continue your journey, the NIISQ Agency will be there to support you as your needs and goals change over time.

One of the first steps we have taken is to streamline the teams of Support Planners that work with you. Over time, you will work with different Support Planners who will provide you with different levels of support as you get back into living your life.

    Ways to get involved

We are keen to create more ways to help your interactions with us and are pleased to advise that new ways for us to engage further with participants will be coming soon, helping us to shape the way forward. Watch this space!

    New ways of communicating

You might also notice that your Support Planner is asking you different questions than they have before. This is all part of our improved My Planning (formerly Support Plan) process, which aims to make sure we really understand your unique needs and goals, and so that we can tailor your treatment, care and support to what you need.

My Planning is an improvement to our existing process. We are aiming to ensure participant experience and ways of working with the NIISQ Agency is simpler and easier.

We completed a pilot project with NIISQ participants to refine the My Planning tools and have also worked with the University of Queensland, who developed a goal planning and writing workshop which was delivered to our Support Planning team.

    What’s next?

In the coming months, we will invite participants to join our reference or co-design groups, where they will be able to provide their opinion on different projects we are undertaking. Stay tuned!

In the future, your Support Planner might also change as part of our work to support each participant journey with NIISQ, and we will work with each participant as this occurs.
