NIISQ expands CogCap program to strengthen cognitive rehabilitation across Queensland
October 17, 2025

The National Injury Insurance Agency, Queensland (NIISQ Agency) is proud to announce the expansion of the CogCap program, an innovative capacity-building initiative for cognitive rehabilitation providers. Following a successful pilot, we have partnered with the University of Queensland (UQ) to broaden the program’s reach across Queensland, ensuring more clinicians can access this valuable training.
The CogCap program is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and confidence of clinicians working with individuals living with acquired brain injuries (ABI). Delivered either online or in-person, the program incorporates a “train-the-trainer” model to support ongoing workforce development and ensure the program’s sustainability.
This initiative reflects our commitment to supporting evidence-based rehabilitation training models that are accessible to providers regardless of where they practice in Queensland.
Cognitive rehabilitation providers interested in participating in CogCap training are invited to contact Professor Jenny Fleming at j.fleming@uq.edu.au for further details.
This project is one of many initiatives funded by NIISQ to support impactful research and education, ensuring that participants and service providers benefit from innovative, evidence-based approaches to rehabilitation.
