What we pay for

The National Injury Insurance Scheme, Queensland (NIISQ) funds necessary and reasonable treatment, care and support for eligible, serious personal injuries sustained in a motor accident on or after 1 July 2016 in Queensland.

Treatment, care and support services include:

Medical treatment_no text Medical and pharmaceutical treatment (e.g. doctor’s appointments, medication)

Dental_no text Dental treatment

Rehabilitation_no text Rehabilitation (e.g. physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy)

Care respite_no text Respite care

Aids and appliances_no text Aids and appliances (e.g. wheelchairs) other than ordinary personal or household items

Prostheses_no text Prostheses

Education and vocational training Educational and vocational training

House Modifications_no text Home and transport modifications (e.g. ramps or bathroom rails)

Care respite_no text Attendant care and support services (e.g. personal care and domestic services)

Ambulance transportation.
