NIISQ 2025–26 annual report now available

The NIISQ Agency’s 2025–26 annual report is now available, capturing a year of meaningful progress, reflection and preparation for the future. As the Scheme celebrates its 10-year anniversary, the report highlights a decade of progress while keeping a clear focus on what matters most – supporting and helping people with serious personal injuries achieve their goals and live meaningful, connected lives.

It also highlights the many ways participant experiences, strong partnerships and ongoing innovation are helping us improve services and build a sustainable Scheme for current and future participants.

Key milestones from the year include:

• Listening to participants and learning from their experiences – our participant survey found that 92% of respondents said NIISQ had played a valuable role in their lives, while 89% felt the Scheme understood their accident-related needs well. These insights are helping us recognise what is working and identify where we can continue to improve.
• Making it easier to access information and services – NIISQ Direct continued to give participants convenient online access to their plans, approved providers and services, and reimbursements. Participant feedback is guiding ongoing improvements, so the platform remains practical, accessible and responsive to people’s needs.
• Strengthening services through partnership and lived experience – we introduced clearer guidance for service providers, welcomed a new Participant Reference Group and continued to invest in research, rehabilitation and lived-experience-led initiatives. By working closely with participants, families, providers, researchers and community partners, we are creating more opportunities to learn and improve.
• Building a strong and sustainable Scheme for the future – we progressed significant organisational transformation and developed the Strategic Plan 2026–2029. This work is strengthening our capability, use of data and decision-making so NIISQ can continue delivering consistent, innovative and sustainable treatment, care and support.

As NIISQ enters its second decade, we are proud of the strong foundations built over the past 10 years and grateful to the participants, families, providers and partners who continue to shape the Scheme. Their experiences and insights will remain central as we embrace new opportunities, respond to changing needs and build on the progress made so far.
