MyNIISQ Participant Portal Project Update

We’re pleased to announce the successful second round of pilot testing has now been finalised for the National Injury Insurance Agency, Queensland (NIISQ Agency)’s digital portal (MyNIISQ Participant Portal).

The digital portal enabled participants and their families to securely access information and communicate with NIISQ, when and how they choose. It also consists of two key concepts:

  1. ‘MyPlan’, an interface for participants to view their goals, approved services and provider details, allowing them to see what services are funded and how they relate to their goals.
  2. ‘Digital reimbursements’, a simplified process for participants and their families to easily and quickly claim any out-of-pocket expenses that are funded by NIISQ.

In late 2023, an initial pilot of the portal was conducted with four participants over a six-week period to test the features of the digital reimbursement and MyPlan components. This pilot was a success, and provided us with an opportunity to create further enhancements based on feedback received. A second pilot, involving our Participant Reference Group, was run in early 2024 and has now been finalised with positive results. All participants involved in the pilot said they would recommend the pilot to others, and noted how simple and easy it is to use.

Following the success of this second pilot, we aim to release the portal to all participants. Requirements gathering is underway as part of our digital transformation and we are looking forward to providing this option to all participants in the future. We will provide further updates to participants and their families as the project rolls out.
