NIISQ Direct: Voluntary participant sign up coming soon

A National Injury Insurance Scheme Queensland (NIISQ) funded research project investigating the benefits of The NIISQ Direct (previously MyNIISQ) pilot will open a voluntary sign-up process for all participants and close contacts who are keen to use the portal when it becomes available in the coming months.

NIISQ Direct is a secure online portal supporting participants and their carers to access their MyPlans, goals, and approved services. An additional feature providing the ability to claim online reimbursements, is also expected to become available later this year.

A series of recent pilot studies tested the portal’s features with increasing numbers of NIISQ participants:

  • In late 2023, an initial pilot of the portal was conducted with four participants over a six-week period to test the features of the digital reimbursement and MyPlan components.
  • A second pilot, involving an additional 10 testers from our Participant Reference Group, was run in early 2024 and has now been finalised with positive results.
  • This most recent round of testing involved an additional 30 users to test their ability to view their MyPlan and self-sign up.

NIISQ Direct uses digital ID for secure login to provide a seamless, yet highly secure authentication process. Digital ID incorporates two-factor authentication, along with document verification software, ensuring that only authorised users can access the portal while eliminating the need to remember yet another password.

Participants and their close contacts will be sent correspondence with information on how to sign up for NIISQ Direct as soon as this is available.

We are very excited to see NIISQ Direct taking shape and will continue to work with our participants to make sure the portal meets their needs.
